Testing a prototype corner for the Jeep Unlimited LJ. This one is 3/16″ 6061-T6 aluminum. It weighs about 16 lbs. The prototypes fit great so it shouldn’t be long until these are available.

We started working on a new aluminum roof for Yamaha Rhino UTVs. It is made from one piece of .063″ aluminum and will weigh in at just over 10lbs. Look for it on the website soon!

’03-’06 TJ/LJ Aluminum Engine Skid Plate

This UCF Engine Skid Plate was designed to fit the ’03-’06 Jeep Wrangler TJ and Wrangler Unlimited LJ. The skid plate itself is laser cut from 1/4″ thick 6061-T6 aluminum plate. It is then formed on a press brake with radius tooling to retain the strength of the material in the bend region. This shape produces an incredibly strong part that is capable of supporting the entire weight of the front half of the Jeep if necessary. The skid plate itself is only 11lbs. The complete kit weighs in at 16lbs.

There are 2 sets of mounting holes on the front side of the engine skid to provide different mounting locations so that you can take advantage of the clearance afforded by a motor mount lift.

The skid plate will be shipped with all needed mounting hardware and steel brackets and struts to attach the front of the skid to the frame. All parts will ship bare of coatings.

Note:

A) You may be responsible for drilling your transfer case skid plate for the rear mounting hardware. All new UCF transfer case skid plates will include mounting holes for this part.

B) This product may fit other manufacturers transfer case skid plates. No guarantee is made that it will be compatible with stock or other aftermarket transfer case skids.

1/4″ Aluminum Transfer Case Skids are NOW AVAILABLE! Final pricing has been published at $329.99. These skids save a tremendous amount of weight, over 50 lbs compared to similar 1/4″ steel skids. They actually weight less than the stock shovel. The savings in shipping costs can help pay for the increased cost of the aluminum. Aluminum Transfer Case Skid Plates

I will be creating new parts listings for Aluminum Transfer Case Skid Plates early this week. Final costs are now being calculated so I don’t have a price point yet. It will obviously be more expensive than the carbon steel versions. The 6061 Heat Treated Aluminum Skid Plates will only be available in 1/4″ thick plate. They will be reinforced in the middle from side to side by a cross member just as the steel versions are. The 1/4″ thick Aluminum Skid is a full 50lbs lighter than its Carbon and cousins but has just as much ability to take a hit. Expect to see them listed on the website very soon. Detailed pictures will be posted later this week.
