UCF TJ Low-Profile Transmission Mount

The fact that the factory transmission mount for a Jeep Wrangler TJ is 1 3/4″ thick leaves a lot of room for a slimmer design. We have been prototyping a setup that will reduce that thickness to about 3/4″ overall. This would allow the use of our standard skid plates without a body lift.

The design relies upon a rubber bushing mounted to the side under the front output yoke. It is aided by the use of a thin rubber sheet between the two “leafs” to prevent any sag that may occur over time. The prototype is fabricated of 5/16″ thick carbon steel plate. It will require a small amount of grinding on the factory transmission mount bracket to clearance a flange.

We should be completing the prototyping phase in the coming week and have the product for sale on the website on the website later this month. This product will be available for sale as an upgrade option on our skid plates or separately. It can be used with several of the other high clearance skid plates now on the market with almost no modifications.
